Did you know Geraldine, or would you like to help remember her? Leave a comment in the post, below.
Geraldine is the daughter of Kay Brown and sister to Stephanie and Christine Brown. She was 8 years old at the time of Tracy.
Below is a pdf of Geraldine’s story as told by Stephanie. You can find the original at the ABC website here (but as stories become dated ABC deletes them, so we have save it as a pdf for safekeeping).
Geraldine’s gravestone.

Dear Stephanie and Christine ,angels take us home to be with The Lord , when I heard what she said “I’m going now and I love you all “ , her way of telling you that she knew where she was going ,I can’t imagine what you went through , much love from Katheryn .
I was there on the day, and knew Kay and Colin fairly well from our time at Brown’s Mart theatre through the preceding couple of years. Ended up driving one of their cars back to Perth in February 1975.
Haven’t read or heard anything of Kay and Colin for many years, and would like to know if they are still alive…and how Steph and Christine are doing.
Steph and Christine are well. Both are up here for the 50th Anniversary and I have had the pleasure of their company. Kay lives with Christine in Gympie and Colin died in Darwin approx 6 yrs ago.
To Miss G. Brown:
I was your age only a few years after Tracy.
I hope that there is an afterlife because especially you and the other children of Tracy deserved better than what happened to you.
I have known of this family through living in Darwin for 40 years.
I was so moved by the cyclone Tracey program and their recollections. So sorry for their loss. Geraldine knew she was loved and died with them near her. No words will help but thankyou for being so brave.
