As a child I knew Molly well, my mum was a friend of her and Brian,
Molly taught me how to knit, sew, spin and weave, I remember Kerri being born,
Molly and her husband were leaders in my Auckland church youth group before moving to Darwin, with their baby daughter Kerry, to work in full-time ministry roles.
It was a huge shock when, just a few months later, both Molly and Kerry lost their lives in the Cyclone Tracy.
I remember Molly as a woman with a lively sense of humour, a down-to-earth approach to life, and a willingness to tackle whatever came her way. Fifty years later it’s still hard to comprehend that someone with so much life, and so much to give to others, died in such tragic circumstances.
